Secrets los cabos marquis3/1/2024 ![]() The majority of rooms at The Marquis are similar ocean view junior suites of 650 square feet. Wait staffers bring drinks and towels to you in your cushioned lounge chair. Since the sea is too rough for swimming here, most guests are content to watch the action from one of the three swimming pools: a large main one in the middle of the property and then an infinity pool facing each direction of the beach. Well-stocked locker rooms also have steam and sauna rooms. After your massage in one of ten treatment rooms, push open the wooden shutters off the reception and enjoy the open-air private sanctuary overlooking the shimmering sea, with a row of whirlpools offering a soak with a view. What didn't change is the superb menu of specialty massages incorporating indigenous ingredients like cactus oils, agave, seasalt and seaweed from the Sea of Cortez. The 13,000 square-foot Spa Marquis got a serious upgrade in the last round of renovations and it is a stunning space with plenty of calming properties. Some of the suites feature an original oil painting by the Mexican painter Agustin Castro Lopez. Public spaces are filled with an extensive art collection featuring commissioned oil paintings and bronze sculptures featuring many notable Latin American artists such as Jorge Marín. The stunning views and water serve as a backdrop to the hand-made turquoise imbedded marble floors, like a carpet highlighted with hand-picked river stone. The open-air lobby merges with the decorative pool and the sea, before appearing to fall into the sea, with a 40-foot drop to another pool, then a cascading waterfall down to the bottom level. After arriving at the corridor highway location, you pass through an entrance that is a tribute to the Sea of Cortez and Los Cabos, an architecturally nod to the Los Cabos rock arch.
